1.
Compass 03:20
I’ve been wandering, walking in my sleep But I prefer to call it out chasing dreams I’ve been wondering thinking aimlessly praying on my knees, God help me please I get so lost in my own head I’ll need a compass for where I am heading I don’t know how to get there but I’ll keep on running The mile markers have been keeping me going Keeping my faith and hoping it’s working I was never good with directions I just stuck to what I know Landmarks, familiar faces, I need a stepping stone Or a paved yellow brick road Something to find my way back home I get so lost in my own head looking for the answers I just get lost sometimes
2.
Because 03:07
I could never look ahead so i kept focus on my feet As if they knew where to take me besides down the same old streets As if they’re shuffling on to better things I’ll keep on walking this town until it started to rain Just because I know my roots doesn’t mean that I’ll get planted there My ship is sinking, It’s hard to just stay afloat Been treading water for years and it’s all I know My feet are fumbling for some solid ground or maybe something to stand on I could never look ahead so i just closed my eyes And I hoped for the best and stuck to guiding lights Just because I know my roots doesn’t mean that I’ll get planted there You better move your feet or you’ll get stuck here You better learn to breath or you’ll burn out
3.
When I was younger I had it all figured out I had nothing left but living and I still hadnt met doubt As I got older my head started spinning From a handful of those moments that left me staring at the ceiling I’m not bitter, but I would go back I’ve been revisiting old memories, but they all seem to close the door on me They say I’m not who I used to be, I guess I changed more than I’d like to think The next thing I knew I was getting well adjusted I had settled into habbits and thats what I trusted in When nothing ever went the way we planned it But if it did it wouldn’t have made a difference I’m not sorry for how I turned out Remember when, Remember when you said, “you’re the one I’ll carry with me.”
4.
I hear the Savior say, “Thy strength indeed is small; Child of weakness, watch and pray, Find in Me thine all in all.” Refrain: Jesus paid it all, All to Him I owe; Sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow. Lord, now indeed I find Thy pow’r, and Thine alone, Can change the leper’s spots And melt the heart of stone. Refrain And when before the throne I stand in Him complete Jesus died my soul to save My lips shall still repeat Oh Praise the One who paid my debt and raised this life up from the dead.
